Well I guess you can call me a grumpy old man now, but I'm not alone. When I go to work everyone seems to call me the old man. I kinda don't mind, it makes me distinguished among the young ones. At home all the kids call me a grumpy old man too so with that in mind I guess I am. So if you ever see me anywhere you can call me a grumpy old man, it's ok and I wont take it personally and heres why. You see the CARBS of Hartford is a fifty year old car club and it is made up of grumpy old men, thats right, grumpy old men, like me I might add:) Now there is one guy I know that is really grumpy, Tom Mahoney, oh man he's grumpy but don't f**k with him, but if your on his good side like I am then he'll talk to you and at least try to point you in the right direction. In fact if you try real hard to accomplish something he'll do his best to help you. Now there was a guy named Dave Farley, he was the president of Carbs of Hartford. He wasn't a grumpy guy, in fact the reason why he was the president of the club is because he knew how to control all the grumps and make them get along with each other, and while doing that he put together a rather fine organization. Since Mr. Farley's death however the grumps are kinda unorganized. There still doing there thing I suppose but there having a rough time. more.. How this website got started was when I meant the grump above, Mahoney, yep that grump, he and Farley had this idea that they wanted a cool website for the club but they really didn't know what to do so they asked me, yep this grump. So I put together this website and over the years it grew but guess what, none of the grumps came to see it. For one reason or another the grumps held a grudge and never came by to look at there own website, but you know, they are grumps, yeah like me. So we now have about 650 members online, not Carbs members, just members that interact with each other, sell cars here and kinda do there thing and all the grumps are still grumpy and still won't come by but that's cool with me. You see every time someone comes to the site and looks around there is a banner from google that is displayed on every page here and that leaves an impression (not the impression like a grump leaves) and every time someone clicks on the impression it throws about 80 cents in the fund. Well the idea Mahoney and Farley had was to throw this cash into the Carbs of Hartford club fund to raise money for other things like benefits and such, well that was the idea anyway but seeing how the grumps where so grumpy and didn't even come by the Club missed out. Well over the years I have had several Foster Children. What's cool about foster children is that they don't act like your children, they kinda act like old grumps, like us, but believe me when i tell you this they have good reason to act like grumps and hold grudges. The difference with them is that they are actually young enough to get the help they need not to become old grumps so in there honor and to benefit to our sociality I have taken it upon myself to donate all proceeds from this website to my foster children for things they want. Last year was the first year we started making something, we totaled a wopping $550.00 and this year we have $450 now and my children thank you. If you read this and are one of the grumps and want to change your life around a little bit I have a way you can do this and feel much better about yourself. You can start off by pressing the button below and make a donation to the I'm not a grump fund and this will help my kids make purchases for themselves on ebay when they come over the house. A pair of earphones cost about $4.00 on ebay shipped and makes them very happy!!! Maybe someday by some faith one or two of the grumps will actually come in, register here and sign in. Then maybe, just maybe one of them will hit the submit news button and really describe the organization called CARBS of Hartford in detail to us and give us the inside scoop as to how it got started and a little history behind it. In the meantime please, don't be a grump, make a small donation to the I'm not a grump fund. By doing so you will make a child very happy and we will let the child know that one of the grumps from our website made a donation. In return maybe the foster child that receives your donation will come by and say hello and thank you for your donation. Most of the time you can see the Grumps and there wonderful cars at Barts Diner in Windsor. They really do have some great cars, look in our photo gallery to check some out. I hope you enjoyed my bad sense of humor here, have a great day and be sure to comment on my story.
